Kovalam and Trivandrum in 3 Days

Once after booking the resort or hotel in Kovalam, Poovar or Trivandrum the visitor can plan as below.



A Kovalam visitor who is coming from the other destination can reach Trivandrum City and visit or Darshan at Sree Padmanabha Samy Temple by 11.45 AM to 12 Noon. Padmanabha Swamy temple is famous for its treasure where one trillion dollar discovered and protected now. After that it has acclaimed as the richest temple in the world. More to know about the Sree Padmanabha Temple, like all other treasure stories two dangerous King Cobras are believed to protecting the hidden chambers where the Gold and Treasures are kept. All the treasures are kept in different racks naming A, B etc. The Supreme Court of India ordered force is now protecting the Temple and the entry to the temple is strictly monitored. This Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is run by the trust by the Royal family of Travancore. This temple and its assets are belongs to the Lord Padmanabhaswamy and controlled by the Travancore Royal family. Now after finding the worth of the treasure the Supreme Court has removed the Royal family and taken its control.

The Darshan timing of the Sree Padmanaswamy temple 3.30 AM to 4.45 AM, 6.30 Am to 7 Am, 8.30 AM to 10 Am, 10.30 AM to 11.10 AM, 11.45 Am to 12 Noon, 5 Pm to 6.15 Pm, 6.45 PM to 7.20 PM Lunch nearby and then proceed to Kuthiramalika Palace located close to Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple. The palace has a museum where displayed paintings, and collections of the royal family. The palace and museum is closed on Monday. By 12.30 Noon the visitor can come out from the Temple and can move to Veli Tourist Village

In Veli the lake merge with the Arabian Sea. Boating is available here and a well maintained garden with Floating restaurant and floating bride. By 5 PM move to Shanghumugham Beach the best place to watch the sunset and can enjoy the beach and swimming. A restaurant shaped like a star fish is functioning here with variety of food menu. By 7 PM transfer to the Resort in Kovalam or Poovar and stay overnight in the resort or hotel.

On the second day the visitor can spend time on the beach from early morning and after breakfast by 8 AM, spend time in light house beach, Kovalam Beach and Hawa Beach. Now time for lunch and after lunch travel to Poovar which is 16 Kilometer from Kovalam Beach. Poovar is a less polluted and isolated beach with boating facility. Poovar is very near to the Neyyar River. This enchanting boating of 2 Hours covers almost 13 Kilometer through the beautiful sightseeing, mangrove forest, floating hotel, Golden sand beach , Mother mary statue. Life jacket is a must during the boating and it will be provided by the boat operators. Now the will be around 6 PM and can move to the resort in Kovalam or Poovar. Stay overnight in the resort.

One your 3 rd Day. Today depends the departure flight or train time, options to visit the museum, zoo and art gallery of Trivandrum. Relax on the beach till 9 PM. Then start to Trivandrum. Visit the Sree Chitra Art gallery where display of the world famous paintings of Raja Ravi Varma. The paintings are the real ones and collected from the Royal family of Travancore. Zoo is in the middle of the city and spread in 55 acres of land. Crocodiles, Big Bats, Flying fox, Bear, Hippos, deer, sambar deer, blue antelope, African cape buffalo, scew horns, zebras, leopard, jackal etc are common seen here. Depends the departure timing move to the railway station or airport. Or travel to the next destination. Avoid second day poovar visit and travel to Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari is also called cape comorin. Kanyakumari is 90 Kilometer from Trivandrum and will take 3 Hours minimum. Kanyakumari is in Tamil nadu state of India and there is a border. Bordet tax will be there once passing through the border. Kanyakumari is famous for its close view of the Sun Set, Vivekanand Rock, Padamanabhapuram Palace & Suchindran Temple. Reach by 3 Pm and visit Padmanabhapuram palace for 1 Hour. Padmanabhapuram Palace is the biggest wooden palace of Asia. Before it was the capital of Travancore State. This palace is well preserved with murals, floral carvings and black floorings. Then visit Suchindran Temple is 135 feet tall Gopuram and 18 Feet Hanuman statue.

Now by 5.45 it is time to be at sun set point. This is Indias last point. The land ends here. Here is the sangam of three oceans meeting point. The Indian ocean, the Arabian sea & the bay of Bengal merges. This also referred as Ttiveni Sangam. The visitor can view the sun set very close from here. Also vivekanda rock which is 500 meter from the beach.
